From Louisana, we headed straight up north for Arkansas. We was already the afternoon and it was quite the drive as we aimed to arrive at the Ozark National Forest before it was too late. We had a camping reservation at Cameron Bluff campground for the night at the Mount Magazine State Park and arrived around 11pm to a closed visitor centre with our reservation and campsite number taped to the front door. The campsite was at the base of the high point, which is officially called Signal Hill. Signal Hill, at 2753 feet was only half a mile (a short 20 minute hike) up the hill from our campsite which was great as we made the refreshing early morning hike at sunrise. It was a a well organized and paved area and we took a few photos before heading down and on our way to Iowa. It was such a nice day and the state park felt so nice and the scenery was beautiful it felt a shame not to stay longer but we had a tight schedule so we were on our way.
